. You might want to check whether there are any logs for item losses or if an admin can confirm what happened, since it seems the disconnect occurred right when the orb dropped.

getting inventory back

There is no default command to restore starting OP armor after death. Only possible if the server uses keepInventory, kits, or a plugin that reassigns gear on respawn.
