Our platforms should be a friendly environment where all players can be addressed or spoken to in a respectful manner.
Why do we have this rule?
We believe all PikaNetwork platforms (Minecraft server, Discord server and the forums) should be a friendly and welcoming environment where players can freely communicate and express themselves. We encourage everyone to cooperate and compete in a positive environment, but never in a way that disrespects or causes discomfort for other players.
In short: treat others the way you would like to be treated.
What do we mean by behaving appropriately?
Behaving appropriately means that players should not create negative experiences for other players or otherwise display improper conduct. Common examples:
- Advertising social media or Minecraft servers
- Sending forbidden links
- Using swear words in the chat
- Repeating the same message multiple times
- Pretending to be a staff member
- Being rude towards others
A full list of disallowed behaviour can be found below in the
Disallowed Behaviour section.
Does profanity fall under this rule?
Yes, it does. Using bad language is not allowed on PikaNetwork, even if it is not directed towards a player.
Does this rule only cover chat messages?
No, it covers all forms of communication and player activity. Inappropriate structures, skins, capes, names and similar are all forbidden.
All players have the right to play in a fair and clean environment.
Why do we have this rule?
We want to keep our gameplay on an even playing field for everyone, so we do not allow any modifications which provide an unfair advantage over the default Minecraft launcher.
Other unfair advantages are also forbidden.
What is an unfair advantage?
- Abusing bugs for personal benefit (report them HERE instead)
- Cross teaming
- Doing (or attempting to do) trades involving Minecraft accounts, real money or other goods/services unrelated to PikaNetwork
- Evading punishments
- Owning illegal items
- Stat boosting
- Team griefing
- Teaming with cheaters
- Using auto-clickers or macros
- Using illegal trapping methods
- Using unapproved modifications (more information can be found HERE)
A full list of disallowed behaviour can be found below in the
Disallowed Behaviour section.
How do I know if a modification is allowed or not?
A full list and explanation of officially allowed modifications can be found
HERE.
Anything not explicitly listed as allowed in that thread is considered 'use at your own risk' and we do not recommend using it.
What type of trading is disallowed?
Trading Minecraft accounts, items/currencies/other goods on other platforms/Minecraft servers and anything involving real money or goods is against our rules. Trades may only involve PikaNetwork ranks, items and currencies.
Doing trades which involve the gold currency of PikaNetwork or items from
our official store is allowed provided that no accounts, items/currencies/other goods on other platforms/Minecraft servers or real money/goods are involved.
What is punishment evasion?
Punishment evasion refers to playing or using the chat on an alternative account while another account of you is IP-banned or IP-muted. Doing so is disallowed.
All players must only speak English in the public chat. Using other languages is forbidden.
Why do we have this rule?
We want all players to be able to be able to freely communicate with each other. This is not possible if they are speaking different languages.
In addition, it is not possible for our staff members to moderate the chat if they cannot understand what is being said, so we expect everyone to speak English.
Does this rule apply to all chats and platforms?
No, this rule only applies to the public chat on our Minecraft server (including spectator and game chats). Using foreign languages is allowed on Discord and the forums.
What is considered a private chat?
In the context of this rule, private messages (/msg and /fmsg) and group chats (party chats, guild chats and similar) are considered private chats.
This means using non-English languages is allowed in them.
