Add HCF as a new gamemode
Detailed description:
Hello, my suggestion is to add HCF (hardcore factions) as a new game mode on pika.
1) What is HCF?
- HCF or hardcore factions is a gamemode where teams of usually 5-10 compete to become the top faction on the server. This is very different from regular factions as there is only 1 world in which people can build bases and cannons and tnt are disabled. HCF relies on the pvp aspect to earn points and become the top faction.
2) Farming
- Although HCF is very action packed, it’s not all fun and games. You will have to farm for lots of thing, from potions to food. This can be a monotonous process, but it must be done in order to have a reliable resource supply. You will have multiple “gardens” in your base that will farm things like potatoes,
carrots, watermelons, and nether warts. /shop as a feature will be disabled and the players will have to make a treacherous journey to spawn to buy basic essentials from an NPC.
3) PVP
- The pvp will be mainly Pot pvp. as players will have to manually grind their own potions and make an entire set of armor from scratch. usually the protection and sharpness you can have on your respected gear is capped for example most servers only allow armor to be enchanted till protection 2 and swords to be enchanted till sharpness 2. On top of all of this Death bans can be in effect for example if a player dies he has to wait 30 minutes before being able to play again.
4) Classes
- Now where getting into the real Dungeons And Dragons part of it. To make pvp fun for people who aren’t just good at hitting a block person with a sword, we have classes. Classes are determined on the set of armour you wear (you must wear the whole suit of armour to be the class). This is a short list of the universal classes/kits that HCF servers have.
- Diamond: fancy name for a suit of diamond armour, normally accompanied with a whole inventory filled with speed and health potions. This is the most common kit.
- Bard: a fancy set of gold armour, permanent Resistance, Speed II, and Regeneration. Bards don’t PvP a lot, but they have an equally important job as diamonds, perhaps even more. If diamonds are the Football Jocks, bards are the cheering fans. They hover around a team of diamonds, having items that, when held in hand, can give powerful affects to surrounding faction members. Effects like jump boost, speed, resistance, regeneration, and strength can all be given. Like diamonds, the rest of their inventory will be filled with pots and pearls, along with a sword to defend themselves with.
- Archer: full leather armour (probably to resemble some archer cloak), with permanent speed III. The name is pretty self explanatory. Stacked fire bow that deals lots of damage, and in some cases may increase any damage dealt to that player by 20%. Low damage resistance, but that doesn’t matter if you are a good archer. Speed 3 with a clickable ability to give themselves speed 5 for a few seconds is more than enough to run away from an onslaught of diamonds running after you.
- Rogue: rogues aren’t used frequently, but can pack tons of damage when the time is right. Chainmail armour filters a fair amount of damage, but not enough to go all in like diamonds. Permanent speed III and jump boost II to get away fast, but rogues specialize in getting up close when the enemy isn’t looking. Rogues have gold swords in their inventory, which seem quite terrible compared to the diamond sword sharpness 1 sitting in your hotbar slot one. But I think we need to use our imagination here, and imagine they’re daggers. These golden daggers will deal an instant 3 hearts of damage to an enemy, as long as you hit them in the back. Pretty OP, huh? Well to make them not just an instant kill, you may only use a dagger once, and if will remove itself from your inventory. Best to keep 5+ gold daggers just in case ur in a pickle.
5) Claiming/Bases
- So this is the most prominent thing in HCF. At the start of the world, your faction must claim a plot to build your base on. These tend to be very large, as your whole faction will ”live” there. No other faction can build or place/interact with blocks that are on your claim, unless you become raidable. To decide whether your raidable, we have DTR. DTR (Deaths unTil Raidable) is a system to show when your base becomes raidable (enemy factions may break blocks and open chests in your claim). Your starting DTR is typically equal to the number of players in your faction, plus one. Whenever a faction member dies, you lose 1 DTR. When you get 0, your base becomes raidable. Players from neighbouring factions will come to steal your stuff and grief your base. Your DTR regenerates back to full after around 30 minutes.
6) Events
- koths (king of the hill) will be occuring every 2 hours and the faction that captures it will earn a koth crate key + points towards faction top. Koth crate keys can give access to exclusive items such as sharpness 3 swords ( when the server capped sharpness at sharpness 2) and other exclusive items. Along with a weekly super koth that gives the best of rewards.
7) Start Of The World run through
- When the map starts players will be given a 2 hour window in which pvp is disabled and they are allowed to go setup their base claims and begin farming items such as wood, diamonds, netherwart etc. Newer players to the server will be given pvp protection ( 2 hours where players wont be able to kill you), so even newer players can easily get a start.

Reason(s):
- Pika network already has a very active kit pvp community and i can almost guarantee a majority of them will be willing to check out HCF.
- As of right now the 1.18 factions realm is rather inactive and its also filled with phasers / bhoppers. I would suggest that the 1.18 realm be removed and HCF added as the new game mode in its stead.
- Due to many server world wide not having the game mode HCF anymore, Pika network could most likely be receiving a large influx of new players.
- We can all agree Pika needs a completely new game mode, as players are tired of playing the same old gamemodes again and again.
- if you have any further questions and need further input feel free to DM me on discord
